Reminder! Lunch and Dinner Extended at The Diamond Horseshoe: Magic Kingdom Park guests will continue to have a table-service option for lunch and dinner at The Diamond Horseshoe through July 4. The Diamond Horseshoe is open daily, serving up a hearty, all-you-care-to-enjoy feast for Guests. As a reminder, the meal includes a salad, followed by a platter of flavorful entrees to choose from: barbecue pulled pork, sliced turkey, country smoked sausage or braised beef with all the fixin’s. Dessert is a chocolate brownie topped with a toasted marshmallow. Pricing is $33 plus tax for adults; $19 plus tax for children ages 3-9 years. Reservations are available.

Reminder! Sounds Like Summer Concert Series Started June 5: Get ready for another rocking rendezvous—the fun begins at America Gardens Theatre in June with the Sounds Like Summer Concert Series. Featuring renditions of songs from Boston and the Eagles to covers of classics by Tina Turner, Bruce Springsteen and the Bee Gees, Sounds Like Summer is a cover-band blast from the past that’s fun for the whole family. The summer concerts kick off with Don’t Look Back – A Tribute to the Boston on June 5 to June 11, 2016.

New! Park Hours Extended on Select Dates: Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be extending operating hours, June 18, 20, 21, 23, 25, 27, 28, 30 and July 2, 2016. Park closing time has changed from 9:00pm to 10:00pm and fireworks were added at 9:45pm.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Reminder! The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic Now Open: “The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic,” a new musical inspired by the blockbuster live-action film “The Jungle Book,” debuted over the weekend at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This limited-engagement nighttime offering immerses guests in a retelling of the adventure of Mowgli and friends at the brand new Discovery River theater in the Asia section of the park. The show features dozens of colorful performers that appear on the water and surround the audience in song and visual artistry. Massive curtains of water, illuminated with imagery from film serve as the backdrop to the show, as Bagheera and other favorite characters from “The Jungle Book” take us on a journey through the jungle.

New! ESPN Club Now Taking Some Reservations: ESPN Club is now taking reservations for lunch, Monday–Friday only. Guests will continue to be seated in the order of arrival for lunch Saturday and Sunday, as well as dinner throughout the week.

New! Caricature Artist Now at Disney’s Beach Club Resort: A new caricature artist is now appearing outside Beach Club Marketplace at Disney’s Beach Club Resort! The artist is available Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 6–11 p.m.

New! Bus Loop Now Open at Disney Springs: The Disney motorcoaches now have their own dedicated bus lanes to approach Disney Springs, giving them more efficient access to the property. And once there, guests are dropped off at The Gateway, offering a stunning arrival into the newest neighborhood. With eighteen load zones, a picture-perfect drop off location, and centrally located access to Town Center, guests will love the new transportation to Disney Springs! With the opening of this new location, the former Marketplace bus loop will support other transportation needs including vehicles coming from nearby Good Neighbor Hotels, Hotel Plaza Boulevard and Shades of Green.

New! Now Open at Disney Springs: STK Orlando and Lilly Pulitzer: Disney Springs continues to celebrate grand openings this week, with two venues officially opening their doors to Guests. Offering a modern twist on the traditional American steakhouse, STK Orlando is now open in the Landing. STK Orlando serves dinner daily from 5-11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 5 p.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Reservations are encouraged and can be made online by visiting STK’s website. In addition, Lilly Pulitzer is now open in Town Center, offering a treasure trove of clothing and accessories that feature the playful prints the brand is known for. Lilly Pulitzer is open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

New! Water Park Transportation Changes: Transportation to Disney Water Parks has been adjusted. For bus service to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park: Resort Guests should take a bus to Disney Springs. A transfer at Disney Springs may be required after 1 p.m. For bus service to Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park: Resort Guests should take a bus to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and then a bus to Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park.

New! Preferred Parking Now Testing at Disney’s Water Parks: After piloting a new parking option at the theme parks, the pilot is being extended to water parks. In addition to complimentary parking, Guests may choose preferred parking for $15, which will provide Guests with closer parking to the entrance and bottled water for each Guest. The additional parking option begins at Disney’s Blizzard Beach on June 5 and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon on June 19.

New! NFL Pro Bowl Week Activities Coming to Walt Disney World Resort: The NFL officially announced at a press conference last week at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort that the 2017 Pro Bowl is coming to Orlando and will be played at Camping World Stadium near downtown. But the best part is several of the official Pro Bowl activities will be staged at Walt Disney World Resort as part of the league’s new approach of making Pro Bowl Week a celebration of all levels of football – from youth to high school to the NFL’s best. If you want to get in on the Pro Bowl action, fans can sign up for exclusive pre-sale ticket opportunities at www.ProBowl.com. Tickets go on sale to the general public in November.

Reminder! ‘Speak Like A Whale Day’ June 11 at Disney Parks: On Saturday, June 11, 2016 Disney Parks will celebrate Speak Like a Whale Day. Taking a cue from everyone’s favorite forgetful fish, Dory, and her new friends Bailey, a beluga whale, and Destiny, a nearsighted whale shark, guests can learn to speak the language while taking part in some whale-sized fun. Guests can celebrate in a number of ways:

  • Guests at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida will receive a complimentary button to celebrate the day on June 11 (while supplies last).
  • At Disney Springs, families can dive into “undersea” themed activities, including a live DJ, games and giveaways. Young guests can attend “Whale Speak University” and give speaking the language a try.
  • At The Seas with Nemo & Friends in Epcot, guests can learn about the real-life counterparts of the characters from the film and see them in their massive 5.7-million-gallon saltwater aquarium home. Experts from Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment Team will be on hand throughout the day to help guests find Dory and her friends and get a closer look at their world.
  • Dory and some of her new friends from Disney•Pixar’s “Finding Dory” have joined Crush at the Turtle Talk with Crush attraction at Epcot. Guests can meet Destiny the whale shark, Bailey the beluga whale and Hank the “septopus.”

Reminder! Temporary Changes to Parades and Shows: Some Magic Kingdom entertainment offerings will be impacted certain dates throughout spring. The Main Street Trolley Show and Move it! Shake it! Dance and Play it! will be adjusted May 31. On these dates and Move it! Shake it! Dance and Play it! will be presented at 12:30 and 5:40.

Epcot

New! Experience the classic Soarin’ at Epcot for a limited time starting May 27: Epcot Guests will have one more chance to hang-glide across snow-capped mountains and along California’s rocky shorelines when Soarin’ reopens on Friday, May 27. A new film, Soarin’ Around the World, will debut at Epcot and at Disney California Adventure on June 17 following its world premiere at Shanghai Disneyland, but before it does, this popular attraction will reopen with the classic film enhanced by its newly updated digital screens and projection system.

New! Hours Extended Select Days This Summer: Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be extending it’s hours on the following dates this summer – June 18, 20, 21, 23, 25, 27, 28, 30 and July 2, 2016. On these dates, park closing has changed from 9:00pm to 10:00pm and fireworks have been added at 9:45pm.

New! Preferred Parking Test in Progress: As of May 22, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is testing a preferred parking option. This new preferred parking will enable Guests to park closer to the entrance of the theme parks for an additional $15. At Hollywood Studios, preferred parking is in the Stage Lot.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Night Experiences Debut at Memorial Day Weekend: Guests can now enjoy a plethora of new experiences at Disney’s Animal Kingdom that started Memorial Day Weekend. The Tree of Life has begun its nighttime awakenings after the sun goes down. The park also hosts two new parties, Harambe Wildlife Parti and Discovery Island Carnivale, as well as the new “The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic” water show, which brings the tale of Baloo and Mowgli to Discovery River each night. Guests are now be able to enjoy many of the park’s existing attractions in the evening hours for the very first time. Kilimanjaro Safaris is open for guests to get a glimpse of the savanna’s animal occupants as the sun goes down, and of course guests can rediscover favorites like Expedition Everest and Primeval Whirl in the dark. The park hours have been extended and FastPass+ plans can be made. Two new F&B locations, Tiffins restaurant and Nomad Lounge, have also open their doors.

New! Pangani Forest Exploration Trail Name Change: Pangani Forest Exploration Trail’s name has changed to to Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail (effective May 27). This is only a name change. Guests can still expect to see some of their favorite animal species including hippos, meerkats, zebras and more along the trail.

New! Tiffins Menu Released: The newest Disney signature restaurant – Tiffins at Disney’s Animal Kingdom features cuisine and beverages from places that inspired the creation of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Walt Disney Imagineering describes the interior as “a gallery you can dine in with artwork that is a direct result of travels to Africa, Asia and South America.” Open for both lunch and dinner, Tiffins is situated near Pizzafari on Discovery Island. Adjacent to Tiffins, Nomad Lounge features waterfront views in addition to hand-crafted cocktails with African, Asian and South American flavors; beers, and sustainable wines from those regions, plus specialty non-alcoholic beverages and small bites. Here’s a look at the menu for both Tiffins and Nomad Lounge.

Reminder! Memorial Day Beach Party at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa: Take part in a retro beach party on Memorial Day—Monday, May 30. There will be music, games, activities and special offerings. The party will take place on the beach from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on both dates.

New! Gone Mad Parties Coming to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa: Curious food & beverage offerings will be available during the showing of Wishes nighttime spectacular. The Gone Mad Party will be hosted every Wednesday in June, from 8:30–10:30 p.m. on the outdoor patio near Gasparilla Island Grill. There is no charge for Guests to attend.

New! Disney Springs Guest Relations Has Moved: Disney Springs Guest Relations is now located at the Welcome Center in Town Center. Guest Relations is no longer available in the Marketplace or West Side.

Lilly Pulitzer and TROPHY ROOM Open at Disney Springs: The opening of Town Center was less than ten days ago, but already two new additions have opened their doors. Lilly Pulitzer is a light, bright, airy space featuring a treasure trove of playful prints. With apparel and accessories done in the signature “Lilly” style, every nook of the boutique pays homage to its Palm Beach roots. TROPHY ROOM is a sleek space showcasing ultra-cool sneakers and exclusive merchandise. This first-of-its-kind location — founded by Marcus Jordan, a University of Central Florida Grad, and the son of NBA legend Michael Jordan — was inspired by the real-life trophy room of his father.

Reminder! Kristoff & Olaf  Host Frozen Games At Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park: Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is now hosting to the inaugural Frozen Games. The Winter Games Committee has taken advantage of the freak snowstorm over Central Florida and will host an impromptu sporting event known as The Frozen Games through Aug 21. They’ve even invited Kristoff and Olaf to lead teams of guests in a day full of fun “Frozen” activities, before the warm sun melts the snow away. Guests visiting the waterpark can to join “Team Kristoff” or “Team Olaf” and participate in a variety of activities, including Ice Pail Relays, a Snowball Toss to Ski Pole Limbo and Slide Races. Olaf and Kristoff will join the Winter Games Committee members in the games’ Opening and Closing Ceremonies, and will give updates throughout the games to report on their team’s achievements. The “Frozen” Games will be an all-day event that guests can sign up for when they arrive at the park entrance. All activities are included with regular admission to Blizzard Beach.

New Star Wars Nighttime Show is Sure to be a Blockbuster!

Following the extraordinary popularity of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Walt Disney World Resort is unveiling even more new Star Wars themed entertainment at Disney’s Hollywood Studios starting this spring – including one of the most elaborate fireworks and projection shows in the park’s history.

Just in time for spring, that “galaxy far, far away’’ will be closer than ever with the April 4th arrival of the newStar Wars live entertainment experience Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away and a menacing First Order stormtrooper procession at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. And to kick off summer, the park is launching a new nightly fireworks and projection show called Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular that will eclipse anything of its kind in the park’s history.

These new Star Wars entertainment elements, coupled with other recently-added Star Wars experiences, make Disney’s Hollywood Studios the place for fans to celebrate their Star Wars passion.

APRIL 4:

  • Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away: This new live, stage show celebrates iconic moments from the Star Wars saga with live vignettes featuring popular Star Wars characters, such as Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, Darth Vader and Darth Maul. The show will take place multiple times each day at the Center Stage area near The Great Movie Ride.
  • Stormtroopers march: At various times each day, the menacing Captain Phasma will lead a squad of First Order stormtroopers as they march in formation from Star Wars Launch Bay to the Center Stage area in an intimidating demonstration of the First Order’s indomitable strength.

New! Update on Nighttime Experiences: The new Rivers of Light show and Nighttime Magic at the Tree of Life were previously announced to have an opening date of April 22. Disney announced this week that the openings will not take place on that dates as scheduled. The Disney Parks Blog indicated they will share more information about timing on the Disney Parks Blog by mid- to late May.

Tiffins Menu Details Released: Tiffins, the newest restaurant in the Discovery Island area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, opens this summer, and the Disney chefs have been hard at work to create inventive dishes inspired by the world travels of the park’s creators. Starters include a Lobster-Popcorn Thai Curry Soup with Basil and Peanuts (Asia/Africa) to marinated grilled octopus (Europe). Sustainable seasonal fish crudo (South America) and a salad of roasted baby beets and goat cheese with walnut granola and a sun-dried cherry vinaigrette Discovery Island (North America) round out international creations. Entrées include Berber-Spiced Lamb Chop with Mustard Greens, Lentil Stew and Mint Chutney (Africa); Berkshire Pork Tenderloin with Huitlacoche Tamale, Hominy Succotash and Red Mole Sauce (South America); Miso-glazed Black Cod with Forbidden Rice in Steamed Bok Choy with Turmeric Sauce (Asia), and Grilled Head-on Shrimp with Tomatoes, Roasted Fennel, Olives and Sea Urchin Butter Sauce (Europe). Later this summer, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is launching a new nightly fireworks and projection show called Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular that will light up the sky withStar Wars-themed fireworks, lasers, light projections and other special effects combined with Star Wars-themed music and iconic characters and scenes from throughout the saga. The show will be punctuated with a tower of fire and spotlight beams, creating massive lightsabers in the sky. This new show will be the most elaborate fireworks display to take place in the history of Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

New! Disney Early Morning Magic: The Disney Early Morning Magic package will allow a very limited number of guests to be among the first to enter Magic Kingdom Park to enjoy a hearty breakfast and experience a trio of favorite Fantasyland attractions. Breakfast at Pinocchio Village Haus will feature seasonal fruits, fresh-baked pastries, scrambled eggs, veggie frittatas, smoked bacon, pork and turkey sausages, waffles and much more. And during their special time in the park, Guests will also have quick access to Peter Pan’s Flight, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Disney Early Morning Magic requires a separate ticket – $69 for adults and $59 for children ages 3-9 (plus tax) – in addition to your regular theme park admission. Disney Early Morning Magic will take place on select dates from 7:45-10 a.m., beginning April 26.

New! ‘Zootopia’ Characters Nick Wilde & Judy Hopps Debut at Magic Kingdom Park: The heroes from the ‘Zootopia’ film, Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps, are now in the “Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It!” Street Party at Magic Kingdom Park, daily.

Reminder! Temporary Changes to Parades and Shows: Due to construction work, some Magic Kingdom entertainment offerings will be impacted certain dates throughout February and March. The Main Street Trolley Show and Move it! Shake it! Dance and Play it! will be adjusted April 4, 6, 10, 19 and 24. On these dates, the Trolley Show will use the Main Street fire truck and Move it! Shake it! Dance and Play it! will be presented at 12:30 and 3:40.

New! New Sense of Africa Tour at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge: A new tour will soon be available — Sense of Africa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. This 3.5-hour-long breakfast and tour is designed to immerse guests in the richness, culture and history of this African-inspired resort and give a backstage peek at the care, feeding, well-being and social interactions of the resident animals. A typical tour begins with breakfast at Boma—Flavors of Africa, followed by encounters with animals such as okapi, giraffe, ostriches and red river hogs. Sense of Africa is a feast for all five senses. Sense of Africa is a real chance to get a behind-the-scenes peek at the magic. The experience will be offered on Tuesday and Saturday mornings, beginning April 9. Reservations are available starting April 5; call 407-WDW-TOUR (939-8687). The cost is $249, and staying at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is not required. Experiences may vary.

New! Dates Announced for 2016 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival:  The 21st Epcot International Food & Wine Festival kicks off September 14 and runs through November 14 this fall. That means almost two additional weeks – from 53 days to 62 – of deliciousness, foodie fun, culinary events, celebrity chefs, seminars, music concerts and more.

New! New Pieces at the Kinsey Exhibit: “Re-Discovering America: Family Treasures from the Kinsey Collection” is a world renowned collection of rare art, unique artifacts, and documents on display at the American Adventure Pavilion at Epcot. Some intriguing new pieces have been added to the exhibit that takes you on a stroll through the pages of America’s history and showcases the influence of African-American culture. Touch screens and guest-activated lanterns with narration by Whoopi Goldberg, Diane Sawyer and a host of other celebrities also help bring the history to life.

New! 2016 Garden Rocks Concert Series: Celebrating its 23rd year, the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival at Walt Disney World Resort begins March 2 and will run for over 90 days this year. New! Baby Wallaby at the Oasis: There’s a new tammar wallaby joey at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! You can find the joey and wallaby family in the Oasis area of the park. This joey, the name for a young wallaby, is only about five months old, so it hasn’t left mom’s pouch yet. Last week, the keepers saw the joey peeking out of mom’s pouch. At about seven months, the joey should completely emerge from the pouch with a full body of fur.

Additional Details Announced for Star Wars-Themed Lands:  During the “Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60” special that aired on ABC-TV on Feb 21, Disney shared some exciting details about the Star Wars-themed lands planned for Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts. Guests will be able to step aboard The Millennium Falcon and actually pilot the fastest ship in the galaxy, steering the vessel through space, firing the laser cannons, in complete control of the experience. And with the arrival of the First Order to the planet, visitors will find themselves in the middle of a tense battle between stormtroopers and Resistance fighters.

Toy Story Mania Closed March 15: Due to work related to the additional track at Toy Story Mania coming this summer, the attraction will not be available on March 15. Guests who had made a FastPass+ selection for Toy Story Mania on that day will be provided with a FastPass+ selection for another experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Reminder! Princess Promenade at Disney’s Grand Floridian: Cinderella host the Princess Promenade that starts in M. Mouse Mercantile shop at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Guests ages 3–12 are invited to stroll down the grand staircase with Cinderella and participate in a waltz in the main lobby.

New! Blizzard Beach Closed Due to Cold Weather: Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park will be closed February 25-27, 2016 due to forecasted low temperatures.

New! Typhoon Lagoon Refurbishment Extended: The Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park refurbishment has been extended and the park will reopen on March 20.

New! Atlanta Brave Spring Training Starting Soon: ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is home to the 2016 Atlanta Braves Spring Training Season for the 19th consecutive year. In true Disney fashion, there are entertainment opportunities for everyone in the family while at the ballpark. For the younger fans, at each game one child is selected at random to live out their broadcasting dream. The “junior announcer” has the opportunity to announce player introductions to the entire stadium for a full inning! You can savor some tasty ballpark food concoctions created especially for Spring Training. Adults can even enjoy craft beer from the out-of-market club. Take a look at some of the brews fans can look forward to.

New! New Act at La Nouba: Ekaterina and Alexander Abramova are real-life partners who dazzle Disney Springs audiences with their daring aerial bamboo performance. Practically a lost art, aerial bamboo, a skillful mix of acrobatics and storytelling that takes place high above the stage, is rarely seen on modern stages.

February 4 – 29: Representatives from Precious Moments dolls will be on hand for the release of their new Valentine inspired collection, among other fan favorites, throughout the day, each day, at Marketplace Fun Finds in Disney Springs Marketplace.
